It’s back to cup action on Saturday 21st December as St Andrews United travel west to face West of Scotland Premier Division side Cumnock Juniors at Townhead Park in the Challenge Cup 5th round
Cumnock Juniors Football Club was founded in 1912 and have enjoyed significant success in Junior football, highlighted by their achievements in the Scottish Junior Cup, winning the tournament during the 1978/9 and 1988/89 seasons. They currently lie 11th in the West of Scotland Premier Division with 11 points from 10 games
McCreadie Extends Contract
St Andrews Utd is delighted to announce that midfielder Alex McCreadie (sponsored by St Andrews Golf Travel) has agreed to extend his contract with the club until the end of season 2025/26
Alex joined Saints from Heriot-Watt University earlier this year and has produced a number of excellent performances, particularly over the last few months The skilful central midfielder possesses great close ball control and eye for a pass so will continue to be a key player for Greg Shields as we aim to move up the Premier Division table over the coming months

Sauchie 0-0 St Andrews Utd
St Andrews Utd secured a very valuable point following a hard fought 0-0 draw in very windy conditions away to Sauchie Juniors. Chances were very much at a premium with the overhead conditions making silky football impossible! Overall a point was probably a fair result and we now focus all attention on next weeks tricky away game to Jeanfield Swifts
The standrewsunitedfc.co.uk player of the week is Lewis Craik (sponsored by Hutton & Niven). On from the start against Sauchie, Lewis ran his heart out from the first minute to last and was involved in many of the chances that were created for Saints

Double signing joy for Saints!
St Andrews United are delighted to announce the contract extensions of local favourites Ryan McManus and Ross Cunningham. Both players have pledged their future to the club until the end of season 2025/26.
Midfielder Ryan McManus (sponsored by Chronic Pain Research) initially joined the club in February 2019 after a career that included playing as a youth for Celtic and a stint in the United States. Before returning to St Andrews United, he also played for St Andrews Amateurs. McManus is recognised for his strong leadership and consistent performances on the pitch. He has been one of the team’s leading performers so far this season, and wins just about every header he goes for!
Left winger Ross Cunningham (sponsored by George Wallace) is currently serving as the club’s longest-standing player. Known for his versatility and skill, Ross is a well-rounded footballer with a cultured left foot, capable of excelling in various positions. Cunningham, nicknamed “Rossco,” joined the team on July 1, 2015, and made his debut on February 27, 2016.

“I’m absolutely delighted that both Ross and Ryan have agreed to extend their contracts with the club. Both players have been integral to recent successes, including notable performances in league matches and cup games. Although I have only been at the club for a few weeks, it is clear to me that the club has a great group of players.
